Lasku ja maksatus

• to bill paying
• “After approval, the bill goes to the payment department.”

• “After approval, the bill goes to the payment department.”

“for approval” vai “to approval”?

• for approval = oikea muoto:
  “We send the invoice for approval.” (lähetämme laskun hyväksyttäväksi)
• to approval = ei käytetä tässä merkityksessä.
• “After approval, the bill goes to the payment department.”
  (Hyväksynnän jälkeen lasku menee maksatusosastolle.)

Esimerkkejä, joissa “to approval” on oikein

• “The product is subject to approval.”
  (tuote on hyväksynnän alainen)
• “The contract is pending approval.”
  (sopimus odottaa hyväksyntää)
• “The application is submitted to approval by the board.”
  (hakemus jätetään hallituksen hyväksyttäväksi — hyvin muodollinen ja harvinainen)
• Huomaa: näissä “to approval” ei tarkoita lähettämistä hyväksyttäväksi, vaan se on osa kiinteää rakenteellista ilmaisua.
